Volunteer Opportunities

"We make a living by what we get,
We make a life by what we give.”
                                                 Sir Winston Churchill

If you are looking for an exciting volunteer opportunity where you can touch the lives of others, look no further.  Volunteers are the core of Northland Hospice, providing support to our patients, their families and our staff.  There is no other work like volunteer work or any greater reward than doing something for someone else.  Whether holding someone’s hand, helping at fundraisers, making phone calls, assisting at the HodgePodge Thrift Shop, setting appointments, stapling and filing, or just listening, volunteers do so because they care.

All volunteers who wish to serve in the care of terminally ill patients and/or in bereavement support are required to attend a training course on end-of-life care. This training is provided in the spring and the fall of each year. (see our education page for more details) or click here for the Certified Basic Hospice & Palliative Care Course Application.
